Deseed a pomegranate in no time

Your salad or Moroccan tagine recipe calls for pomegranate arils but you wonder if it's worth the effort of hacking them out of the skin, one-by-one? The best way to solve this one is to simply cut the fruit in half, gently stretch the edges of the skin outward, and place it face down on the palm of your hand, over a bowl. Firmly hit the top a few times using a wooden spoon and the arils should fall into your hand and the bowl below.
