Steak- Saucy Rump

Ingredients

  • *rump steak cut into strips.
  • *1/2 tsp lemon pepper.
  • *1/2 tsp black pepper pwdr.
  • *1/2 tsp steak and chops spice.
  • *1tsp crushed red chillies.
  • *1/2 tsp chilli pwdr.
  • *1 tsp fine salt.
  • *Ginger garlic.
  • *lemon juice.
  • Onion rings
  • 1 med Green and red peppers (strips)
  • 2 carrots (jullieaned)
  • Sauce:
  • 2 tblsp tomatoe sauce.
  • 2 tblsp steers peri peri or crystals sandwich sauce.
  • 2 tblsp woester/soya sauce.
  • 1 tblsp mayonaise

Preparation

Step 1

Marinate steak with spices, leave for a few hours or overnight.
The longer it marinates the tastier the steak will be.

Step 2

cook marinated steak on low with butter/ghee!

Step 3

In a pan julienne carrots-green and red peppers
saute seperately and add to steak.

Step 4

In a separate bowl mix the folowing sauces:
2 tblsp tomatoe sauce.
2 tblsp steers peri peri or crystals sandwich sauce.
2 tblsp woester/soya sauce.
1 tblsp mayonaise-mix
and add to stir-fry!

Step 5

Layer onion rings on top of the steak..
Allow to cook till nice and saucy

Can be served with mash. Or also great when served as a filling for pitta!!

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Water

 Filling:

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup tomato sauce

 Method

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, milk, and water in a pan, and mix until you form a dough.
  2. In a saucepan, heat a splash of olive oil and add the onion. Cook on medium-high until onion has softened.  
  3. Add the ground beef, and add the salt, water, and tomato sauce. When the meat has browned, remove from heat. 
  4. Dust a flat surface with flour, and roll out the dough into a flat sheet. 
  5. Use a ramekin or cup to cut out circles. 
  6. Add a dollop of beef-tomato mixture to the center of each circle. 
  7. Pinch the dough into a little pocket.
  8. Bake in the oven at 350° F for 15 minutes.
  9. Enjoy!
