This is the REAL difference between Pepsi and Coca-Cola
Coke or Pepsi? It's a question for the ages.
Most cola drinkers fall into one of two camps, and some of them even swear that they can tell the difference at 100 paces... but what is the real difference between these two popular drinks?
Malcolm Gladwell addresses this question in his book Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking (2005).
While conducting extensive tests and comparisons (which would have made any Bordeaux wine maker proud) he determined that it comes down to this:
Citrus vs Vanilla
According to Gladwell, Pepsi has slightly citrus flavor, whereas the taste of Coca-Cola leans towards vanilla and raisins.
As well as affecting the flavor, the citrus notes of Pepsi make it more recognizable in a blind taste test, leaving the smoother taste of Coke less identifiable.
