You Should Be Wrapping Your Lunches Like THIS
The Japanese wrap lunchboxes in cloth, not paper... and it's absolutely stunning.
Forget sad brown bag lunches — in Japan, there is an ancient tradition of wrapping food, and gifts, in elegantly-printed fabrics.
The practice goes back over a thousand years (to the Nara period), when merchants used the cloths to protect their wares during transport. Today, colorfully-printed furoshiki are used to protect home-cooked lunches, to dazzling effect.
They are also used to decorate gifts, with the added bonus of being totally reusable!
These furoshiki are produced by Furoshiki Musubi, in Kyoto, Japan. You can check out their online store, or their Instagram for more stunning photos!
