If the old, stale burgers sitting in the warming rack don't appeal to you, you can use this simple trick to get a freshly made sandwich, just for you!

Craving a fresh, hot-off-the-grill burger?

Craving a fresh, hot-off-the-grill burger?

Technically, McDonald's burgers can only be stored on the rack for up to 10 minutes after being prepared, but if you think the rules have been bent, or think this is already too long, then this trick will help you get a fresh burger made up, on the spot.

It all comes down to special requests.

Any modification to the regular burger composition will mean that the staff need to make it fresh, from scratch. The modifications don't need to be very complicated either: it can be as simple as asking for an unsalted bun (as they are generally salted), asking for "no onion" (the employees will make a fresh patty instead of scraping the onion off a pre-cooked one), or... and this is our favorite... simply asking for your meal to be cooked fresh.

Yep, you read that right. Instead of trying to "trick" the staff into giving you fresh ingredients, you can just ask for it up-front. You may have to wait longer for your meal to be prepared, but you know it will be worth it!

Another former McDonalds employee also makes the point that "if you're going to the restaurant during even a moderately busy time, your food is gonna be fresh." So, depending on when you are planning your meal, this may not be necessary anyway.

Psssst.... hungry? Here's how to make a totally delicious homemade McDonald's quarter pounder with cheese!
