The Sexy Secret Behind Back Dimples
Ever wonder what those mysterious indents above your tailbone mean? Read more to find out.
Back dimples are the absolute envy of swimsuit season. Not everyone has them, and even less of us know where they come from. Odds are, you've probably never given them much thought. However, it turns out that back dimples may play an interesting role in your love life (more on that later).
What are back dimples?
Back dimples are formed by a short ligament stretching along your spine. They fall directly on top of the two sacroiliac joints located on the pelvis. For those who don't have back dimples, that just means that the ligament is less defined. Genetics and weight can also play a role regarding whether your back dimples are visible.
What do they mean?
Historically considered a beauty mark, back dimples are even referred to by the medical community as the "dimples of Venus." And these two little indents certainly live up to their name! Back dimples have even been linked to good sex and better orgasms.
Although it's hard to find scientific evidence to back this claim, it can be argued that back dimples lead to better blood circulation around the pelvis. This presumably encourages arousal and makes it easier to climax.
