Go Nuts!
Staving off weight gain can sometimes seem impossible. But have you tried going nuts?
Packed with protein, fiber, good fat, and other nutrients, nuts have been hailed as one of the world's healthiest foods. Don't let the high calorie count fool you — nuts are among the best snacks you can eat when it comes to losing weight!
For a long time, scientists have speculated whether eating nuts has an impact on your weight. The findings of a recent study published in the European Journal of Nutrition contain overwhelming evidence to support this claim.

The Study
The investigators followed more than 370,000 participants over the course of five years. The result: the participants who ate nuts gained less weight than those who didn't eat nuts. Furthermore, the nut-eaters had a 5% lower risk of becoming overweight.
Overall, there's a strong link between nuts and reduced weight gain. Joan Sabaté, director of the Center for Nutrition, Lifestyle and Disease Prevention at LLUSPH, even suggests eating nuts during your meal. "Put them at the center of your plate to replace animal products," he advises. Good news for dieters who struggle to find food that's both healthy and satisfying!
