Eggnog - US/UK

Eggnog comes from the UK, but today it is more common in the States and widely consumed during the Christmas season. Served chilled or warm, it has a rich, creamy texture, which it gets from milk, cream, whipped egg whites, sugar and egg yolks. Nutmeg and cinnamon are common flavor additions, and alcohol can be added for an adult-friendly version. Most Americans buy prepared eggnog from grocery stores, but many recipes exist showing you how to make it from scratch.
