Quentão - Brazil

While it's true that Brazil doesn't experience harsh winters like us, some of its mountainous and southernmost regions can get chilly. There you'll find quentão, a traditional Brazilian cocktail made with cachaça, fresh ginger, sugar, cloves, cinnamon and boiling water. It might also include red apples, which are caramelized with the sugar and ginger before the other ingredients are added. The tasty beverage is best suited to ceramic cups or small earthenware to help retain its warm temperature.
