Biscuits
Great biscuits are the stuff of fluffy, crumbly dreams. And no, they don't come from a Pillsbury can. You can and should make biscuits yourself, the kind that are milky, buttery and probably not gluten-free. Buttermilk, is a non-negotiable ingredient. Any recipe that excludes it is not worth your time. And use real butter, not shortening. Also, baking homemade biscuits does not entail plopping them on a baking sheet haphazardly and hoping you end up with perfect cushy disks. They must be touching, so the tops get nice and crisped and the sides remain as soft and pillowy as the interior. Most importantly, eat them right out of the oven. Biscuits weren't made for you to hold back.
