Moqueca - Brazil

This delicious Brazilian stew comes from the coastal regions of Brazil and is typically made with shrimp or fish, tomatoes, onions, garlic, cilantro and spices. Depending on the region, you might also find it prepared with coconut milk, palm oil or other types of seafood. Typically, it's served with white rice, pirão (a type of porridge made with fish broth and manioc flour) and farofa (manioc flour, toasted in butter) or stewed banana plantains. Moqueca is an incredibly flavorful, hearty dish that is sure to satisfy your taste buds and fill you up.

Where to eat: If you're in Brazil, you need to try moqueca in its native state of Bahia. Sabor da Vila in Praia do forte is famous for its array of seafood moquecas, each one as delicious as the next.
