Noodles
Everybody loves noodles, and that's why everybody's fighting over their exact origin! There are a variety of theories, but some of the most common include:
1. China. A likely theory, is that the noodles originated in China thousands of years ago. Archeological evidence of wheat noodles has been found in the region dating back to around 2000 B.C. Other types of traditional Chinese noodles, such as rice noodles, are said to have been consumed for centuries within Chinese cuisine.
2. Middle East. Another theory suggests that a variation of the noodles may have been introduced to the Middle East and then devloped into fideos, having entered the area via the Silk Road from China.
3. Italy. Some say that Venetian explorer, Marco Polo, discovered the noodles while in China during the 13th century, before introducing them to his home land. However out of all the theories, this one is highly disputed and there's a good lack of solid evidence to suggest this ever happened!
