Let them know right away if you're splitting the bill

Going out to the restaurant with a big group of friends or family members can be fun—that is, until it's time to pay the bill. If you're a large group and plan to split the bill multiple ways, make sure you inform your servers before they take your order. Many restaurants use computer systems that allow servers to easily split the bill while entering their table orders. Or they can split the bill equally multiple ways at the end. Either way, make sure they're aware how to group the orders for separate bills, to avoid a headache at the end of the meal.
