Not reserving some chocolate chips for the end

The defining feature of chocolate chip cookies is that each cookie is evenly peppered with perfect morsels of chocolate, so that final bit of dough in the bowl that's often 99% cookie, 1% chocolate just isn't going to cut it.

Make sure no cookie gets the short end of the stick by reserving some chocolate chips for the last of the dough. This is also true for any other delicious ingredients you might want to fold in, like bits of toffee, chunks of your favorite candy bar, or chopped dried fruits.
