Authentic lasagna is actually quite a dry dish, and each square should stand up on its own, rather than oozing all over the place. The trick is to balance the ratio of liquid and solid ingredients, not forgetting that an easy way to compensate for an overly saucy lasagna is to use dried, non-blanched noodles which will soak up the excess liquid.
