Puppy Chow

Puppy Chow, also known as Muddy Buddies, is a crunchy, sweet treat made with Chex cereal coated in a delicious blend of chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. Perfect for parties, snacks, or just a fun dessert, this recipe is sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike. 

Ingredients (for 9 servings):

  • 9 cups rice or corn Chex cereal
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. Place the Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal. Gently stir until all the cereal pieces are evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the chocolate-coated cereal to a large resealable plastic bag. Add the powdered sugar to the bag.
  6. Seal the bag and shake vigorously until all the cereal pieces are well coated with powdered sugar.
  7. Spread the coated cereal on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool and set.
  8. Once cooled, transfer the Puppy Chow to an airtight container for storage. Enjoy!
