After Christmas, a cookie exchange or any time, you might find yourself with more cookies than you can eat. Especially when they start to dry out, a fruit crumble is a great idea to use them up. It's perfect if you also have a few apples that are no longer very fresh.
Ingredients (for one baking dish):
4 apples
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 cup cookies
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Peel the apples and cut them into cubes. Mix the sugar with the apples and place them in a greased baking dish.
Dot the fruit with small pieces of butter.
Crumble the cookies and sprinkle them over the fruit.
Bake for about 20 minutes.
Tip: If desired, you can add a splash of Amaretto or a pinch of cinnamon over the apples before baking.
