The golden rules for pairing beer with food

Beer and cheese

You might not have thought it, but beer and cheese form a surprisingly successful match. Serve velvety beer with fresh goat cheese to stay in the same texture family. Or play up the contrast with honey-flavored beer or a fruity Belgian lambic.  More matured goat cheeses pair well with dark chocolaty stouts, such as Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout. Blue cheese would also taste good with this or any Indian pale ale with exotic fruit flavors. If you're eating a creamy cheese, go with an equally rich beer. With harder varieties like Swiss cheese and Gouda, opt for dark lager. Tip: Don't do too many cheeses with the same beer. Keep it minimal with just two cheeses paired with two beers.
