Cook peeled and diced apples in a buttered skillet, add a tablespoon of brown sugar, and let caramelize. Make a meringue with egg whites and sugar. Spread the crust in a pie pan, and pre-bake for 15 minutes. Add the apples, smoothing out the surface, and top with the meringue, using a pastry bag. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 °F.

Pie crust dough
1/8 cup brown sugar
1/8 cup almond powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Egg yellow(s)

1. Halve an apple and slice each half finely.

2. Cut the top of a pie crust to get a straight edge.

3. Spread the brown sugar and almond powder all over the dough.
