Butternut squash gratin

Butter a baking dish. Place 2 finely chopped shallots at the bottom of the dish, along with a butternut squash, cut into pieces and steamed. Add chopped bacon and a preparation of eggs, cream and milk, with a dash of salt and nutmeg. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 °F.
