Valerian improves digestion and is known for being effective against insomnia. You'll need to take it regularly for 2 to 3 weeks for best results. Prepare your herbal tea by pouring 1 teaspoon of valerian root into 6 ounces of boiling water. If you have it, add 2 teaspoons of dried lemon balm leaves, and let brew for 10 minutes before serving.
