Forgetting to rotate the baking tray

As this incredible recipe for thick and chewy chocolate chip cookies reminds us, not all parts of your oven are created equal!  Often the back of the oven will be hotter than the front, meaning the cookies at the back of the tray will cook faster.  Luckily, this is an easy problem to solve!  Simply rotate your baking trays halfway through.  If you have two trays in the oven at once, make sure you also remember to switch which one is on top and which one is on the bottom while you're rotating.
