Huarache (Mexican "Sandals")

Huarache or Guarache is a traditional Mexican dish made with a long oval- or rectangle-shaped masa base that's fried and topped with meat, cheese, veggies and salsa. It's the kind of dish that can be customized a million times over, making it an appealing meal to all. What's funny is that it derives its name from the shape of the masa, which resembles the sandles of the same name. Don't worry, though, it doesn't taste like feet!
