After opening, most wines should be stored in the refrigerator (even reds!). Make sure to tightly cork the bottle!
If you have only a half-bottle of wine left, it's best to decant the wine into a smaller vessel, so that less of it is exposed to air. An empty half-bottle is great, but even an empty jar will do.
