2002: Bourdain Lands his own show on the food network - "A Cook's Tour"

Despite his expletive-laden language, Bourdain's authentic personality was deemed tame enough for TV in 2002, when The Food Network channel offered him his own travel show centered around food. This achievement would only mark the beginning of his award-winning television career and helped ignite his passion for travel and discovering exotic, unfamiliar foods around the world. The show was based upon his previousy published book of the same name, A Cook's Tour: In Search of the Perfect Meal in 2001 (also a New York Times bestseller).
