2013-2016: "Parts Unknown" wins an Emmy Award Each Consecutive YEar
The success of Bourdain's Part's Unknown earned him national and international acclaim, particularly from 2013-2016, when he earned himself an Emmy Award for Outstanding Informational Series or Special for all four years. The show's ability to touch on not only food but also politics and culture made it one of the most insightful travel series to watch on CNN these past five years. After his win in 2016, he made a speech to the press room saying: “I’ve screwed up my life in every possible way a human being could screw up their life. Every real awful decision that a person can make — standing there dunking French fries at age 44 with no future — and it seems to have worked out. Failing upwards, I’m a big believer in that.”
