Century Egg

Also known as hundred-year egg, thousand-year egg and millennium egg, this unique egg dish doesn't take quite as long to prepare as you might imagine. A delicacy in China, it is made by preserving eggs (duck, quail or chicken) in a mixture of ash, clay, salt, quicklime and rice hulls for up to several months. Strangely colored and strongly flavored, they are not for the faint of heart!
