Restaurants Are Not Bars Or Coffee Houses
Do you ever go out to eat, finish your meal, and then stay there for hours afterward? You're part of what restaurant industry insiders like to call "campers." Campers are people who stay long after their meal is finished, which delays table turnover for servers and directly affects their tips. Most restaurants will let you do this (while silently judging you), but don't be offended if you're asked to free the table during a busy service with a long wait. Not only are you hurting the restaurant's business but also preventing others from being able to eat there, too.
