Cracked: The Egg Came First - Champaign, Illinois

Cracked: The Egg Came First was a popular food truck serving hungry students at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign before it became a fast-casual breakfast joint in 2017. Dreamed up by two UIUC alumni during their studies, the truck came to fruition in 2012, offering hearty breakfast sandwiches and freshly brewed coffee beverages. Now they're sold at the brick-and-mortar location, in addition to an expanded menu with variations on tater tots, grilled cheese, soups, burritos, wraps and bowls. For street food purists, the food truck is currently still operating.
