J. Render's Southern Table & Bar - Lexington, Kentucky
One thing food trucks can't offer their patrons is ambiance. People come for the food, not the atmosphere, which is why it's so important to get the recipes right. The owners of J. Render's BBQ food truck had clearly mastered their recipes for smoked meat sandwiches and sides, but upon opening J. Render's Southern Table & Bar in 2016, they were able to craft an ambiance. Regular live music gigs, rustic chic decor and rotating displays of local artwork are just some of its charms. Add to that a well-stocked bar and expanded menu with classic Southern dishes (meatloaf, buttermilk fried chicken), and they've got a winning formula on their hands.
