Get the Proper Water:Coffee Ratio

How strong you like your coffee isn't the only thing you should think about when you prep your java. There are also certain standards that you should consider basing your measurements off of. The legendary "golden ratio" is 17.42 units of water per 1 unit of coffee — not necessarily an easy number to work with if you're not a math fan, but still a good place to start. From there, you can decide if you prefer to alter the strength to other suggested standards, like 8.25 grams coffee per 150 mL water (SCAA) or 1-2 tbsp coffee per 6 oz. water (NCA).
