Tootsie Pop's Mr. Owl

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Thanks to the lollipop-loving Mr. Owl, the world may never know. Actor Paul Winchell (also known as the original Tigger in Winnie the Pooh) voiced the professorial owl when the commercial first aired in 1970. Luckily, the boy's infamous question has finally been solved! In 2015, NYU researchers published a study stating that it would take 2,500 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop (i.e. a lot more than three).
