9 Leftover Foods You're Reheating Wrong

Chicken Breasts or Steak

Leaner cuts of meat like boneless, skinless chicken breasts and certain cuts of steak become tough, rubbery and flavorless when reheated in the microwave. This is because they don't have enough fat to keep them moist and tender. Instead, try reheating these types of meat in a low-heat oven. To do this, preheat the oven to 250°F, and place the meat in an oven-safe dish. Warm in the oven for up to 30 minutes until it's reached a safe temperature of at least 165°F. If you're reheating meat that's been cooked rare (steak or pork, for example), you can opt to give it a quick pan sear on the stove.
