It was/is a rising restaurant trend

Tinned fish is having its moment on the American food scene, and during quarantine it's not disappearing any time soon. Over the last few years, smatterings of restaurants have added tinned fish to their appetizer menu, influenced by Spanish and Portuguese culture. Wine bar and shop Ordinaire in Oakland, California is currently offering nationwide delivery of wines and tinned seafood (plus to-go orders). Saltie Girl in Boston is doing food and tinned fish delivery or curbside pick-up. And Sardine Head in Portland, Oregon delivers a menu of tinned fish platters and wine locally. Whoever said gourmet food couldn't come from a can doesn't know what they're missing!
