Cola De Mono - Chile

During the Christmas season, many Chileans enjoy sipping on cola de mono (monkey's tail), a creamy alcoholic beverage that can be served hot or cold. Similar to a White Russian, it's usually made with Chilean aguardiente (distilled spirits with between 29% and 60% ABV), milk, sugar, coffee and cloves. Everything except the alcohol gets boiled first, then cooled before the booze is added. Many families have their own special recipe and like to pair the holiday drink with a slice of pan de puasca, Chilean fruitcake
