Always have smoked salmon for Christmas? You can easily swap it out for smoked trout, which is less expensive and honestly so similar in flavor you won't even be able to tell the difference. If you can't splurge on champagne this year, get some nice sparkling wine instead. Instead of a cheese and charcuterie board, make a vibrant veggie platter with homemade dips like hummus, tzatziki or fresh tomato salsa. Little changes can make a big impact on your Christmas food expenses, if you're willing to compromise.
