Don't Keep Your Frozen Food Forever

Technically speaking, frozen food could last indefinitely if properly stored and your freezer never breaks down. But while the food may remain safe for consumption, the quality and taste can and probably will degrade over time. This is especially true if your food gets freezer burn, which is practically inevitable the longer it sits in your freezer. That may impart an unpleasant taste and texture, though again, it doesn't necessarily make it unsafe to eat. Store-bought frozen foods may also last longer than freshly prepared food you decide to freeze. We suggest trying to eat foods from your freezer in the order you put them in there, for maximum quality and flavor.

Still unsure? Here's how long food really lasts in the freezer.
