Foods you didn't know you could freeze

Although there are plenty of foods listed above that aren’t compatible with your freezer, here are some foods you didn’t know you could freeze.

  • bananas
  • butter
  • hard or semi-firm cheeses
  • citrus zest
  • egg whites and yolks (removed from their shell and stored in ice cube trays)
  • nuts
  • fresh herbs
  • applesauce
  • chocolate (especially for baking)
  • fresh ginger
  • fresh garlic
