BBQ Sauce - USA
Barbecue sauce is a beloved creation in the US, revered for its use as a marinade, basting sauce, condiment or topping for BBQ meats (pork, beef and chicken), sandwiches, and more. If you didn't already know, it's usually made with a ketchup or tomato paste base, plus vinegar, liquid smoke, onion powder, spices and sweeteners. Classic BBQ sauce has a sweet and savory flavor complex, but you can find dozens of regional variations around the country that vary widely in composition and taste.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cups (255g) brown sugar,
- 1 1/2 cups (350g) ketchup
- 1/2 cup (125ml) red wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup (125ml) water
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2.5 tbsp dry mustard
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp salt
- 1.5 tsp black pepper
- 2 dashes Tabasco sauce
Instructions:
- In a blender, add all of the ingredients. Mix until fully combined and smooth.
- Serve at room temperature (or use as marinade/baste, etc.).
