When Combining the Pasta and Sauce...

Stick to the right ratio. You want enough sauce to coat the pasta, but not too much for it to be swimming in it. If it looks like you made too much pasta versus how much sauce you have, simply reduce the quantity for your recipe, and save any leftover cooked pasta for later. After all, it's easier to take away pasta than it is to make more sauce.
