When the Pasta is Almost Ready...

Warm your plates in the oven, like they do in restaurants. Pasta dishes tend to go cold quickly once served, so you can slow down the process slightly by serving them on pre-warmed plates. To do this safely, stack oven-safe plates or bowls in the oven at its lowest setting (usually 150°F) about 15 minutes before the pasta is ready to be served. Use kitchen mitts or thick dish towels to remove them from the oven so you don't burn your hands.
