Currywurst - Germany

Without a doubt, Germany is THE sausage capital of the world, with an estimated 1,500 varieties to choose from throughout the country. One of the most well-known kinds besides bratwurst is the iconic currywurst. Consisting of a steamed, fried or grilled pork sausage, it's served in slices and smothered in a curry ketchup and usually served with fries. The famed street food originated in Berlin after World War II and has since become so popular that there are museums dedicated to the dish, showcasing its history and cultural significance.

Where to eat: It doesn't get much cheaper or tastier than the currywurst at the iconic Curry 36 stand in Berlin. For just one sausage, you only pay €2.50, and the menu even features vegan-friendly options.
