Acai Bowl

Ready in just a few minutes, this acai bowl is a powerhouse of fiber, antioxidants, and healthy fats!

Açaí comes from the acai berry, which is grown in South America. A sort of mix between a grape and a blueberry, many believe it contains more antioxidants than either of those two fruits, and also more than raspberries, strawberries, and cranberries.  It's color is so vibrant, that just looking at your bowl will brighten up your morning!

Ingredients (for 1 bowl):

  • 1 frozen banana (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt 
  • 1 cup acai puree
  • Assorted toppings (nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, coconut etc)

Instructions:

  1. Place the milk and yogurt in a blender.
  2. Add the frozen fruit and puree, and mix everything on the lowest setting until smooth. If the mixture remains too chunky, add a little more milk or water.
  3. The mixture should now resemble a smoothie. Pour into a bowl and top with your assorted toppings.
  4. Best enjoyed immediately.
