Pineapple and Grapefruit Smoothie

Pineapple and grapefruit are packed with minerals and water that can help to keep us hydrated. They also supple our bodies with a heap of fiber too. Using coconut water in this recipe will leave you feeling extra replenished and perky. Coconut water contains electrolytes which can help regulate your heartbeat, and when your body is low on them, you're more likely to experience muscle contractions and blood clotting.

Ingredients (for 1 person):

  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple (diced)
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 small grapefruit (peeled and segmented)
  • 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions:

  1. Combine the coconut water, pineapple, spinach and grapefruit in a blender.
  2. Add the ginger and ice and blend until a thick but smooth consistency is achieved. It should be smooth and frothy.
  3. Enjoy immediately!
