Add salt to the cooking water

We often wonder what the best moment is to add the salt, before the water boils or after?

The latest studies show that it actually doesn't matter, because it will have no effect on how long it takes the water to boil or the pasta to cook. What does matter however is how much salt you use.

The ideal ratio is 1 teaspoon of salt for every 3.5 ounce portion of pasta.
