A nostalgic dish from childhood, quickly prepared and even better with homemade tomato sauce. This classic is a must-have in any cookbook.
Ingredients (serves 4)
1 lb spaghetti
1 onion
1 clove garlic
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cups tomato purée
1/2 cup cream
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar or sherry
fresh basil
salt and pepper to taste
some cherry tomatoes
Instructions
Prepare the pasta according to the package instructions (heating water in a kettle and then pouring it into the pot is more energy-efficient than heating all the water in the pot).
Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic clove.
Heat olive oil in a small pot and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
Deglaze with tomato purée, cream, and vinegar.
Wash and finely chop the basil and add it to the sauce.
Stir and season with salt and pepper.
Wash and halve the cherry tomatoes and serve with the sauce over the pasta.
