Here's a stuffing where the flavors marry beautifully, with juicy pear perfectly balancing aromatic sage. Saute 1 finely chopped onion in butter. In a bowl, combine the onion with 8 cups bread cubes soaked in milk. Add 1 beaten egg and 1 pear, peeled, cored and finely chopped. Mix in 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley, 3/4 teaspoon dried sage, 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme and salt to taste. You can also add a little honey and white wine. Stir well to combine.
