Joe's Stone Crab Restaurant - Miami Beach, FL

This legendary Miami seafood restaurant has been a family-run business since its founding in 1913 by a Hungarian immigrant named Joe Weiss. Today, you can find branches in Chicago, Las Vegas and DC, though they're called "Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab" to distinguish themselves from the original. Weiss's son, Jesse, eventually took over the restaurant and was a charismatic figure, who had friends in high places, including George H.W. Bush and J. Edgar Hoover. Both had dined at Joe's Stone Crab on occasion.
