Choripan (Uruguay)
The name Choripan comes from chorizo (sausage) + pan (bread), and with the spicy chimichurri sauce and chopped fresh flat leaf parsley, it is essentially a jazzed-up hot dog. While the sandwich originated in South America's Rio de la Plata region, it is popular as a street food, snack and appetizer in several countries, including Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
