Breads

Beer bread is a common specialty in Ireland, infused with the flavor of Guinness or another hefty stout. It only requires 3 ingredients: flour, beer and sugar, although you can add a traditional leavening agent if desired. The beer adds a distinctive, chewy taste and moist texture to breads. It's perfect for sopping up an equally hearty stew or spicy chili.

You can, of course, opt for a lighter brew for a more subtle taste, or add various spices and flavorings (cheese, sundried tomatoes) to make it a delicious stand-alone snack. And don't be afraid to think beyond the bread loaf—try incorporating beer into your homemade pretzels or crumbly biscuits.
